Now, this is what I want to say about I Got That On Vinyl. It is an online, D.I.Y. radio show playing music from a library of mostly vinyl/partly CD media that covers a wide range of genres & styles like alternative rock, synth-pop, punk, indie rock, classical, & trance. Actually, I've scrubbed my whole Discogs collection in order to bring you, the potential audience, a definite, authoritative, & exhaustive list covering the generic & stylistic make-up of the songs played on-air. Genres include:

Blues, Classical, Country, Electronic, Funk, Hip hop, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Reggae, Rock, Soul, Stage & Screen, World Music . . .

In the styles of:

abstract, acid, acoustic, alternative rock, art rock, avantgarde, ballad, big beat, blues rock, bolero, breaks, chanson, chiptune, classic rock, contemporary, country rock, cumbia, darkwave, dance pop, deep house, disco, downtempo, dream pop, dub, electro, ethereal, euro house, europop, experimental, folk, freestyle, future jazz, garage rock, goth rock, hard house, hard rock, hard trance, hi-nrg, house, idm, impressionist, indie pop, indie rock, instrumentals, italodance, italo-disco, jangle pop, jazzy hip hop, krautrock, lo-fi, minimal, modern classical, new wave, no wave, noise, norteno, pop rock, post punk, post rock, psychadelic rock, progressive house, progressive rock, progressive trance, punk, reggae-pop, rock & roll, romanticism, score, shoegaze, soft rock, soundtrack, space rock, synth-pop, synthwave, tech house, techno, theme music, trance, tribal, trip hop, vaporwave, vgm, & vocal.

Bear in mind that IGTOV leans heavily on the "electronic" side of music because . . . well, why not?

No edition of IGTOV has a set tracklist. Music selection is influenced solely by the host's current mood. All live editions of IGTOV are recorded and transmitted simultaneously and uploaded to Soundcloud in time for the next day's replay. Each edition of IGTOV will contain a limited amount of commentary separated by blocks of music.

What constitutes "physical media"? Well, in order for a song to make it on air, it has to meet some very definite criteria. It must be contained either within:

  1. an official vinyl (12",10",7") release,
  2. a (12",10",7") promotional or white label variant,
  3. an unoffical/bootleg (12",10",7") release,
  4. an offical compact disc (CD) release, or
  5. a promotional (CD,CDr) release for radio/club DJs bearing a viable record label's logo.

"Burnt", i.e., "homemade", CDr/CDrw's are not considered "physical media" in this sense. However, I am currently toying with the idea of allowing professionally designed/printed CDr media being considered legitimate sources, for any music that has only ever been released in digital format (MP3,WAV,etc.). As of October 14, 2020, this is not the case. But, in cases like this, the avenue I have taken in the past is taking advantage of custom vinyl lathe-cutting services.
